Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as "yogic sleep" or "effortless relaxation". The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of harmony. The unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.
In this relaxed state, we can then feel our thinking mind slow down and welcome what arises without judgement or analysis; we welcome images, feelings, emotions, and memories.  We become aware of our true, unified nature - expansive, inclusive, and deeply restful.

A Women’s Day Retreat at Shakti Power Yoga with Sabrina


This women’s retreat runs from 2:00–8:30 p.m., created as a sanctuary for reflection, expression, and renewal. It’s a pause from the noise,  a place to be held in honest presence, to tend to what’s shifting beneath the surface, and to move through the in-between with intention and care.
The experience unfolds through ceremonial cleansing and opening circle, tea blending and ceremony, and Soul Speak,  a blend of yoga, journaling, and intuitive movement that invites emotional release and embodied truth. You’lol  move through contrast therapy with sauna and cold plunge, share a seasonal homemade meal, and end the evening in Reiki and sound healing for integration and restoration.
Every element is meant to invite grounding, release, and inner listening,  a gentle return to your own rhythm.


Inner Alchemy is an offering for the woman in transition, for the one who senses change stirring and wants to meet it with presence rather than resistance, to honor what’s transforming in the space between.

Each class will feature a unique focus—from core activation to upper body sculpting and dynamic lower body work - and some nice stretching at the end. Lauren & James’ Journey

n the summer 2013, just 36 hours after James moved to Nashville, he decided to explore the city. With no real plan in mind, he started driving and stumbled upon a yoga studio on Music Row—Shakti Power Yoga. On a whim, he parked and stepped inside, where he was greeted by a friendly dog, Clark and a welcoming woman who invited him to come back the next day for a special birthday yoga class. With his belongings still en route, James showed up the next day in a bathing suit—and that’s when he met Lauren for the first time. Within 2 months they were dating and have been together ever since. From the beginning, their relationship was built on shared values: kindness, honesty, and a deep commitment to family.

We have dreamed of starting a family since before we were married in 2019. After years of trying, including multiple rounds of IVF and other procedures. We have decided to explore embryo adoption and on the path now working with a doctor in California. We remain open and deeply grateful for any opportunity to grow our family. We are so grateful for the love and support our family, friends and community have given us through it all.

Madaline’s bio:
Madaline is a Reiki master, sound healer, and meditation guide. She started her practice -  Zen Tiger Healing - after a near-death experience and life-altering medical diagnosis. Reiki, meditation, and somatic practices helped her recover and fall in love with life again. With a scientific brain and a spiritual heart, she was fascinated by the body and mind's response to these modalities. Today, she helps others overcome mental and physical traumas, imbalances, and pain through a blend of holistic techniques. She also hosts various community events around Nashville, hoping to share these incredible practices with others. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of harmony. The unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness.
In this relaxed state, we can then feel our thinking mind slow down and welcome what arises without judgement or analysis; we welcome images, feelings, emotions, and memories.  We become aware of our true, unified nature - expansive, inclusive, and deeply restful.

 Join us for our monthly workshop designed to cultivate mindfulness, community, and deep relaxation. In this class, Brooke  and Ana will guide you through a breathing exercise and grounding meditation, creating a peaceful space for you to center your mind and body.After the meditation, you'll be invited to reflect and journal on a couple of prompts related to the theme of the workshop. This time for self-inquiry allows you to deepen your practice, clarify your intentions, and explore new perspectives in a personal way. Whether you're new to meditation or have been practicing for years, this is an opportunity to explore different techniques and practices in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Following your journaling, we’ll come together for a group discussion, where you’ll have the chance to share insights, ask questions, and connect with others.To close the class, they will guide you into a soothing sound bath using crystal singing bowls tuned to different energy centers in the body. The healing vibrations from the bowls will help balance your chakras, release tension, and invite deep relaxation.The intention of this class is to foster connection with yourself and others in the community. Through self-reflection, play, and structured activities, Cameron’s method has helped countless people unlock new levels of artistic expression.

We will meet once a week to discuss insights from the book and share our experiences with the journey while supporting one another in a nurturing and encouraging community. Through group accountability, reflective practices, and daily and weekly exercises—including Morning Pages and Artist Dates—you'll cultivate a deeper appreciation and connection to your creativity and gain the confidence to pursue your passions.

With a background in theater and the healing arts—plus 15 years at Google providing and managing onsite wellbeing services around the globe—Mitch brings a holistic approach to nurturing creative recovery. Having studied The Artist’s Way with Julia Cameron herself, he has embraced its tools for nearly two decades and is dedicated to supporting others on their own artistic and healing journeys.

LIVE MUSIC FLOW & SOUND HEALING with Shea and Fiona

This class will begin with a musical breath work mediation and yoga flow, accompanied by live original music.  Fiona and Shea will lead participants into a yoga sequence, with Shea taking on the physical lead while Fiona performs original uplifting tracks from her current album.  This process will repeat itself as the crowd works from a warmup to a peak, ending with a cool down.  Then cool down will be completed by a 15 minute Sound Bath Meditation.

 

Benefits:

When someone listens to live music, the brain releases neurotransmitters that block pain called endorphins.  There are innumerable physical and spiritual benefits to practicing yoga, from increased strength and flexibility to improved circulation and body awareness.  Yoga also has an effect on the capacities of the brain, such as lowered cortisol levels and enhanced function.  

 

When combining live music and yoga, practitioners are able to access a creative flow state - a neurobiological phenomenon that increases productivity and creativity.  This This the most optimal state of consciousness where one feels and performs their absolute best.

In honor of Women’s History Month…we are hosting Shakti’s first Champagne Library. Our intention it to gather with women and celebrate with books, bubbles and community.

Bring a favorite book to swap with someone while you are there. In the book write your name and why you love it ( can be on a notecard). We are very excited to have Kids Yoga monthly at Shakti! ! We encourage you to sign up early to save your kids spot! Space is limited to 12 kids per class.

The kids will experience yoga poses and flow you know and love, geared towards younger yogis! Reilly will guide them through a flow step by step - encouraging intentional and empowered movement, breathing, mindfulness and lots of fun! Parents are encourage to take the 9:30am or 11am or enjoy some downtime near by.

Reilly, a recent graduate of Shakti's very own 200 hour ShaktiU, is beyond excited to bring younger yogi's an opportunity to flow and build community on Music Row. With 10 years of experience working with kids and 6 years of practicing yoga, Reilly knows that the creative and curious nature of young people will make their relationship with yoga all the more powerful. When Reilly isn't on her mat, you can usually find her seeing live shows around town - theater or music, you name it and she's there!

SOUNDBATH with SHEA CARTER

Join us in our monthly Soundbath with Shea Carter! Bring a friend and bask in the beauty and love of sound.

The experience will begin with 15 minutes of BREATHING EXERCISES, followed by BREATH-TO-MOVEMENT KRIYAS, leading into a 30-40 minute SOUND BATH. CHAKRAS are the main energy centers of the body, and sound healing helps to balance and align our CHAKRAS. The deeply powerful vibrations of CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS will help attune the CHAKRA energy centers, opening, cleansing, and unlocking blocked energy.

The bowls bring the energy into the right frequency and then divide that over the entire body to keep it healthy and vital. Each participant will receive premium crystals during the SOUND BATH to amplify the experience, as well as a supercharged token to take home.
