Ever wonder what is actually going on in your yoga practice? We feel different after our practice but do we really know what is actually happening in our bodies? Sarah and Dawn will take you through a restorative yoga practice and give a breakdown of how, why and where different parts of the body can benefit, using anatomy as our foundation. Restorative yoga is a style of yoga using props to support the body, allowing the mind and body to fully relax and restore. With this workshop we get to experience the science behind the poses. As we explore the breath and create the space to slow down, we will give our nervous system the chance to move into the parasympathetic function.  This is often referred to as the rest and digest part of our nervous system.  Moving from the sympathetic to parasympathetic systems can begin with simply slowing down the breath. You will leave this workshop with a new understanding of what yoga does for the body. This workshop is for all levels and anyone with a curiosity for anatomy. 


Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a yoga mat as well as a journal to take notes. All other props will be provided.
