Flow into Your Best Self with Barrett Freibert

Flow is a heightened state of consciousness that silences our inner critic, accelerates learning, and cultivates immense joy. You know that mystical state where everything serendipitously falls into place at the perfect moment, time slows down, everything becomes vivid, and life feels like it is conspiring in your favor? Yep, that’s flow. Now, science proves that the happiest (and most productive) people in the world have the most flow in their lives.
Learn how to hack this state on and off your mat through breath work, journaling exercises, partner work, phases of flow, and hedonic calendaring. If you feel stuck, want to enrich your life, or increase happiness, focus, and flow this workshop is for you! There is no asana (yoga postures) in this workshop. Please bring a journal and a pen/pencil.

Restorative Workshop with Sarah Norris

Restorative Workshop with Sarah Norris

Experience the resonant grounding of being at home within yourself in this restorative workshop balancing steadiness (sthira) and ease (sukha). Sarah will weave together gentle asana, hands-on assists, and pranayama with essential oils. Practicing passive stretches, deepening our breath, utilizing props, and staying in these poses for longer helps to release protective holding patterns and to relieve dense connective tissue and muscular adhesions. This very clear, clean time opens us to greater receptivity, tenderness, and listening. It also balances our whole selves by supporting the parasympathetic ("rest and digest") nervous system. Students will leave with greater buoyancy and deeper reserves—physically, energetically, and emotionally.

Sound + Restore with Ann Sensing

Sound + Restore with Ann Sensing

How we move is just as important as how much we move. Ignite awareness through gentle movement as we mindfully explore the natural tendencies of the body with the healing power of sound. By engaging the parasympathetic nervous system, we will tune in to the sense of the body, or embodied self-awareness, in order to have an authentic experience of the body as strong, supple, and adaptable. Experience the perfect blend of sound and soma in which the practice of attention regulation promoted by slow movement combines with the body's readiness to direct its resources toward healing. By actively listening, feeling, and observing the body in motion, we turn on to what we need and better ready ourselves for self-healing. Engage in this soulful, multi-sensory movement experience as a way to drop out of the mind to instead befriend and enjoy ease in the body. With opportunities for stillness, we will also explore sound as a way to further relax and restore. Benefits include decreased alienation from the body, feeling joyful, and facilitating gentle understanding, self-compassion, and emotional healing.
Class Structure:

We will begin by acquainting ourselves with our current states of mind and gently tapping into how we are feeling through a brief guided somatic meditation (in-depth body scan). Then we will slowly start warming up the body through gentle, intentional movement. Once we have centered breath and body, we will practice aligning the physical and mental through the combination of restorative postures and stillness with the accompaniment of sound. We will end with an extended savasana. Mindfully move, relax, restore, and allow yourself the time and space to heal.

Equipoise with Diane Avice Du Buisson

Equipoise with Diane Avice Du Buisson

An exploration of the five inner elements,
the divine feminine,
and transforming emotions into wisdom.

Equipoise means a balance of forces. Imagine a world where all living beings were in a state of equipoise. There would be less conflict within ourselves and less conflict with others. Mental and physical health would dominate our world rather than the predominant illnesses we see in our world today.

This five session program will invoke and explore the five elements of Space, Water, Earth, Fire, and Air as taught in the ancient, sacred texts of Tibet. The elements are associated with five emotions that can be transformed into wisdom by applying techniques with awareness and consistency. The five sessions will incorporate meditation, reciting sacred syllables, yoga asana associated with each element, and journaling with words and illustrations.

We will gather every other Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, September 16 ~ Space
Sunday, September 30 ~ Water
Sunday, October 14 ~ Earth
Sunday, October 28 ~ Fire
Sunday, November 11 ~ Wind

Fee: $175

Items to bring with you: An unlined journal or art tablet, colored pens or pencils or crayons, and your favorite sitting cushion or zafu. Blankets for sitting are provided.

Presented by Diane Avice du Buisson. What is being shared with this workshop is the fruition of 40 years of yoga with meditation practices and 30 years of receiving and implementing Tibetan Buddhist teachings. I only now realize what it is to be an elder and steward of this earth and how to actualize life experiences to benefit the beings that inhabit it.

Yoga Nidra with Pam & Andrew Jones

Yoga Nidra is an active meditation lying down. Guided Relaxation removes tension and fatigue in the physical body, relieves depression and anxiety, relieves headaches, reduces cravings and desires, rejuvenates and energizes the entire system, bolsters the body's natural healing capacities, and normalizes the circulatory system's functioning. You will feel renewed and recharged!

“Yoga Nidra allows us to move away from body consciousness, away from the thinking, analytical mind to come to understand that what we are is so much more than either of them. Regular practice will help to establish us as a witness, watching the activities of the body and mind without become involved with either. As we come to see this more clearly, we can really rest, recharge and heal while in Shavasana and this will help us in every other aspect of life”
~ Sri Dharma Mittra
