Yoga officially took root in Rebecca’s life when she discovered that practicing Yoga could leave her feeling physically and mentally refreshed and rejuvenated. She realized the benefits of a Yoga practice extended much deeper and discovered the profound spiritual blessings inherent to Yoga. She fell completely in love and continued on a path to explore and expand her practice and knowledge of this wonderful way of life. After years of practice and filled with a strong desire to share the benefits of yoga with others, she completed her 230 Hr. Teacher Training at the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina under the guidance of her teachers, Stephanie Keach and Shala Worsley in early 2010. In 2014, she completed the additional 300 Hr. Advanced Yoga Studies program at the Asheville Yoga Center and earned her 500 Hr. Certification.
Rebecca's teaching style is influenced and inspired by an eclectic blend of hatha yoga traditions and lineages, especially creative Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative. Her classes balance the range of physical intensity from dynamic to restorative to allow all students to explore their own unique yoga practices. Rebecca’s classes create an open, nurturing environment for students to explore their practices with creativity, strength, and freedom! She views Yoga as an art and science to address all the layers of our human system, from the physical to the spiritual, and teaches in a heartfelt way to allow her students to feel guided and supported while creating awareness and balance, and to feel more connected to the wholeness of their beings. She encourages students to move and breathe mindfully, to create space externally and internally, and to dive deeper into their own Self study to explore more fully the connection to truth, wisdom, and light held within us all.
In 2014, Rebecca completed the FloYo SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Yoga training and she leads these fun classes in the Summer through Nashville Paddle Co.
She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology. She also loves to paint!
