Nick Major, ERYT-200, YACEP was first introduced to yoga as a high school student and found his love for the practice strengthened during a four months humanitarian and rock-climbing trip across Southeast Asia. Nick began to take his practice more seriously a few years after returning home when he revisited yoga as an integral tool for rehabilitating from a number of sports injuries while trying to stay active. His practice unfolded into a full-fledged lifestyle and lead him to receive his RYT-200 certification in late 2013.
For a few years following his certification, Nick balanced his teaching with a career as a photojournalist with NBC's Nashville affiliate, WSMV TV, and as an independent event promoter and manager in the live music industry. However, in the spring of 2016, Nick made the decision to follow his passion and left the news station to pursue yoga full time, and hasn't looked back since!
Nick's teaching is informed by his on going studies in the art of body reading, adjustments, alignment, somatic healing, cupping, Thai massage, kung fu, and acroyoga. His sharpened focus on applied anatomy allows students to individually implement yoga's principleswithin their own bodies, thus promoting a deeper personal and spiritual practice.
In 2016, Nick accumulated more than 100 hours of advanced training and teachings from Saul David Raye, Rodney Yee, Mazy Ezraty, Matt Giordano, Chris Loebsak, David, Regelin, Stephanie Snyder, and more. Nick taught at the 4th annual Music City Yoga Fest. Nick is working towards completing his AcroYoga teacher certification in 2017 and is looking forward to adding acrobatics and a variety of other workshops to his teachings in the near future.
You can find Nick teaching dynamic, anatomy-based classes in Nashville at Shakti Power Yoga, Kali Yuga Yoga, Liberation Yoga, Yoga Harmony, and Metro Nashville Parks and Recreations facilities.
