Barrett discovered yoga a decade ago while living in New York City. The vitality, serenity, and clarity it cultivated in each practice made it love at first flow. She practiced Power Vinyasa and Ashtanga on and off for years. But it wasn't until Barrett battled with chronic insomnia in 2015 that she saw the true healing powers of yoga, meditation, and yogic philosophy.
In early 2017 she completed her 200-hour with Empower School of Yoga in Nashville. Ever since then, she has committed to practicing 6 days a week. No ifs, ands or buts! Barrett is thrilled to share her passion for healing through yoga, because we are all in recovery from something. She hopes her students will transmute their challenges into epiphanies through their yoga practice on and off the mat.
When she is not teaching at Shakti or Small World Yoga you can find her practicing yoga, teaching spin, coaching clients, writing poetry, sleeping soundly, reading, or sipping coffee outdoors soaking in the wonders of the world.
